Dogs and Confinement: Training Tips

During these times of confined living, doggies can develop new unwanted behavior. They also have less access to healthy stimulation. I have invited my friend and certified dog trainer Robert Haussmann from DogBoyNYC to join me for a series of LIVE INSTAGRAM videos.

EPISODE 1: Join us Saturday April 11th, 5pm EST / 2pm PDT
Keeping your dog stimulated

Stimulation is very important for doggies. They need to sniff, investigate, and worked their brain out. It’s also a great way to tire a confined doggie. Robert and I will discuss and demonstrate ways you can keep your doggie stimulated and happy during confinement.

EPISODE 2 (TBD)
Exercising your dog indoors

Many of us aren’t able to get out as often as we would. Doggie daycares are closed, and it’s harder to exercise your dog. Robert will show us how to create an obstacle course at home, and keep our doggies entertained and happy!

EPISODE 3 (TBD)
Separation anxiety (preventing and managing)

Now that we are home all the time with our doggies, they are getting used to never being alone, and they love it! Whether your dog is already displayed signed of separation anxiety, or whether you are afraid they might once life goes back to normal, this episode is for you!

EPISODE 4 (TBD)
Reactivity (preventing and managing)

Reactivity is when your dog over-reacts to a stimuli. Is your dog going nuts when the delivery guy rings the bell? Is your dog starting to react to other dogs in the street because they can’t play with them? Preventing reactivity is super important, because once reactivity is installed, it’s a bit more challenging to fix. Reactivity is manageable with the right tools, and Robert will teach us all the good stuff!

EPISODE 5 (TBD)
Puppy socialization during social distancing

Puppy socialization is super important! In the first few weeks of their lives, doggies need to learn social cues from other dogs. They also need to build up that healthy confidence. But during social distancing, puppy classes aren’t available and you can’t really have puppy playdates either… Robert will teach us tricks!

Head to my Instagram post and comment with your worries, questions, anything you'd be interested in us covering! We will answer questions during the live.

Robert is also available for private video sessions (book via his website).
