The Sacred Dog is my deep dive into the spiritual bond that link humans with dogs. It is at the heart of my practice as an artist and animal chaplain.

Dogs have been our companions for 30,000+ years. They have shaped who we are in many ways. Through the ages and across cultures, dogs have acted as spiritual guides, bridges between our human societies and the ecosystems that host us. They’ve been revered as psychopomps, trusted companions, guardians of the afterlife, and protectors.

The ceramic objects and sculptures I create honor the sacredness of our connection with dogs. They are inspired by my calling as an animal chaplain.

Each item is hand-built and uniquely flawed. I spend time with each piece, infusing it with potent spiritual energy, imagining them used in meaning-making ceremonies, letting my hands be guided by the profound knowledge which has been transmitted to us by dogs: all life is precious, we are all interconnected, and there is wisdom in celebrating our intertwined paths.
